Offering private yoga lessons or public yoga classes/instruction in

Yoga for Healing, Chair Yoga, Vinyasa, Yin Yoga, Ashtanga, Restorative, Kundalini, Meditation and Pranayama (Breathwork) for all levels of experience and every body at any age. Available in-home or at many studios throughout Birmingham, Alabama. Attuned to healing Reiki Energy, explained below, which I use in some of my classes to enhance the experience as well as offering private therapeutic sessions.

Shannon found her way to the yoga mat through a difficult health diagnosis during college, in the early 2000′s she became a committed yoga practitioner in 2010. After graduating with a B.A. in Political Science from Samford University and working in the non-profit field, she completed her 200-hour Yoga Alliance instructor certification in 2013 at Birmingham Yoga with Akasha Ellis, and then further certification in restorative yoga, therapeutic chair yoga and Reiki Level I & II. Whether you need one-on-one reiki or yoga therapy for a illness or injury or want a powerful workout in the Ashtanga or Vinyasa tradition, she can help you find the yoga for you. 

Personally, she loves to practice kundalini and mysore. She is also an active member of the community. As a former board member of Sweet Om Alabama – a non-profit whose mission is to spread yoga to populations who would not normally have access otherwise – she is honored to be able to teach weekly at AIDS Alabama to teach yoga to those with HIV and recovering from addiction as well as having experience working with a range of chronic illnesses and disorders such as, fibromyalgia, depression, bipolar and eating disorders.

From personal experience she knows the transformative impact that yoga can have on your health and overall well-being. Her mission is to share with others the practical techniques she has learned that have helped her overcome the challenges she has faced. Shannon strives to make each class a fun, informative and a healing learning experience about life, yourself and the world around you. Reiki is a traditional Japanese form of gentle healing touch which will help you relax fully and clear blocked energy within the body/mind/spirit connection. Whether you wish to call this sustaining energy Prana, God-energy, or life-force, we all have energetic bodies that need to be balanced to maintain health, prevent disease and promote overall wellness.

 

Reiki as a form of energy healing can be helpful in the management of pain, anxiety, depression, low energy levels, joint problems, injury, and many other day to day discomforts. The session is conducted with the client fully clothed while the practitioner uses light touch, allowing this energy to flow, calming overworked areas or simulating stagnant ones. An average session lasts 60 minutes depending on the needs and desires of the client. 

Methods of Payment: Cash and Check or Venmo
For new clients, please reserve 90 minutes for your first session to discuss any concerns you may have prior or after your session.

Cancellation policy:
Lessons may be cancelled up to 5:00 pm the day prior.

Same day cancellation results in a charge of 50% of the lesson’s rate
